Traumatic macular hole

A full-thickness macular hole that results from trauma, such as closed-globe or open-globe ocular injury, laser injury, surgical trauma, lightning strike or electrical shock. It occurs more often in young men, whereas idiopathic macular hole occurs more often in women older than 65 years.
